The Paris trip is cancelled

The lycée has cancelled my daughter's trip to Paris, and  (cowardly) I am relieved.  She isn't of course, but she has youth and innocence on her side.

  1. I would feel the same (and guess ANY mum would, truth be told).

    1. Yes, it is a relief but such a shame as she was representing our department as well as her lycée.

  2. As a Mum, I can appreciate your feelings, much as I'm sure we all feel it imperative that we all carry on as normal... terrible times.

  3. I found out today that it is actually an instruction from central government and not her lycée. All trips to Paris are cancelled!

  4. Caro;e, my grandaughter lives just around the corner from Blvd Voltaire, whilst she ws somewhat traumatised by the events she says for all to visit Paris freely.
Her school, University of London, had lots of counsellors to hand.

  5. Hi Jan. Your grandaughter must have been quite shocked, hope she is feeling better now and is able to talk it through. My daughter was quite OK to go, but the trip was cancelled due to the govt's instructions that all school trips to Paris were called off. I've very mixed feelings about it: be a protective Mum or carry on as usual!

  6. Rather a late comment but I'm so glad your daughter is safe. My Sam was on a trip to Paris during the attacks and I had an awful time trying to find out if he was safe. Thank you for visiting my blog, I'm trying to get back in the swing of writing it!
