French fabric for sale

I've been going through my stash of vintage French fabrics.  It's sort of pile that most vintage fabric fans have where pieces are carefully stored for the future, when the call of creating something is loud and clear.  Unfortunately in my case, I can't sew a button on straight so time to thin out.

Beautiful burgundy, from 19thc, was once a single bed-head cover.

A striking salmon pink mattress ticking, with white flowers woven into the fabric

A real eye-pop of colour here: scarlet red, with white and grey flowers.

Another 19thc piece, in an Art Nouveau design, a little shabby but perfect for that small vintage project.

A beautiful design of floral pinks on a black background, nicely dramatic

And, finally, a little morceau of embroidery, probably from an old kneeling stool or chair, just perfect for a vintage cushion.

sorry, but all sold

As usual, if you would like any more info, just click here to take you to more pictures etc

Ooh!  Just noticed it's my 200th blog posting!

Have a good week!

A few fabrics I have for sale right now...

Sorry - this floral fabric is sold
I adore this little piece of vintage fabric - it's English, and is a riot of tulips, anenomes, daffodils and I just love the colours - you can read about it here.

A lovely classical heavy cotton from Paris designer Olivier Thevenon - very French! Read more about it here. I think this would be perfect at the window, with perhaps a monogrammed linen sheet underneath...it's new and in perfect condition.

This is the grey and white version of one of my best sellers - it looks absolutely fabulous made up into lavender hearts and bags...you can buy it here - I've only got a metre left!

I only have about 3 metres left, out of over 20 metres!
This is a gorgeous, smart mattress ticking - navy always looks good. More details here in my Ebay shop - a friend made up some covers for her boys' bunk beds and very smart they look too!

sorry, this fabric is sold
This is a vintage cotton print - glorious roses on a red background - fabulous made up into cushions or to line a basket. You can get more info here.

Sorry - this fabric is sold (except for a little remnant :) - it's going to South Africa! Couldn't be a footballer's wife could it?

Lime green and purple stripes - not for the faint-hearted! This has a gorgeous chintz sheen to it, and it feels oh so silky...but looks fabulous and perfect where roses wouldn't suit eg an office or study or maybe blinds...you can the listing here. This fabric is double the width too - very good value for money, metre for metre.

Two French Baskets, oh so different!

Sorry, this item is sold

This is a serious shopping basket - just made to take to market and fill with delicious cheeses, fresh herbs, a bottle of wine, then home to hang up in a rustic country kitchen...You can see more photos here in my Ebay shop, but hurry, or I might just keep it for myself!

Sorry - this item is sold
Gorgeous little wire basket, with the flowers made from metal - a little kitsch perhaps, a little 1950s - so cute!

Fill it with cupcakes, scarves, cotton-wool balls, fruit or just to display in the boudoir or bathroom...

Lots more photos in my Etsy shop 'vintagemaison' here - take a peek...

Incidentally, the background of the shopping basket is some great French fabric - it's a large red Vichy check - a big version of gingham I guess - just perfect for hemming and making into a picnic cloth. Or, how about some fabulously cheerful bunting?

I've got a some metres left from another project, so if you want some at £15 per metre, just leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

New French fabrics - my last remnants...

A beautiful rustic fabric with a cute little flower - or snowflake - your choice!

The alternative - a gorgeous rustic red fabric - with the sweetest little heart

Sorry but all striped is sold
This country style red is a plain stripe ticking...

Or, again, a cute heart - just perfect for heart-shaped lavender bags...

sorry all berry fabric is now sold
This is a beautiful berried canvas, with basket weave - a super basket lining...

The is a very tactile version of the country heart check - there is a sage green twisted thread, which makes it beautifully textured

And here is the gorgeous cream, white and beige version and again, very tactile and textured...

I just love French country fabrics - this group of fabrics came from the mountain region of France and a firm favourite of the French for decorating their ski chalets and mountain wooden huts...my clients have found them just perfect for making small items such as lavender bags, shoe bags, blinds and panels on rustic country cushions.

I am selling all my last few remnants of the fabrics I ave been selling for 3 years now - it all started with a little piece of a vintage red stripe - with hearts - and I managed to find a source of a new version which ticked all the boxes.

My best-selling fabric? Well, the red heart stripe of course!

You can buy a remnant here on my Ebay shop - just clic on 'New French Fabrics' for the full selection but be quick - when these have gone, they've gone - the supplier has run out now and says he can't find anymore! I'm still searching...
