Beautiful insect

Look what we found in the school today! Don't know what it is but, boy! What a colour - the green is really the greenest green I've ever seen on a beetle...the oddest thing is, he (or she) had RED wings underneath the green - unfortunately, missed the photo but maybe next time.

  1. Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog. Sorry to hear about your family's battle with Cancer.
That bug is a lovely colour.

I've had a nose around on your blog & you have had some lovely things to sell. How on earth do you manage to part with any of them?

Please can you tell me what the 2nd item down on the left hand side is? Was it knitted or crocheted? I love the colours in it.
By the way, welcome to frugaldom.

  2. Hi Kim - the picture is of a superbly woven fabric made into a skirt on a souvenir doll! It was amazing, made out of wool and was definitely not the usual tourist tat you normally see. The pleats were beautifully made too - I'll see if I can find a photo of her. Back in a mo...

  3. Kim - I have put another photo up of the back of the doll for you to see. I did get an email to say she was from somewhere like Romania - I forget exactly where, but she was so lovely, if a little grubby!
